XiamenUniversity is the only key comprehensive university directly affiliated with the Education Ministry and located at any of the five special economic zones at present. It is founded by Mr. Tan Kah Kee, the well-known patriotic overseas Chinese leader in 1921.With 20 schools containing 37 departments, XiamenUniversity has become a comprehensive university providing a fairly complete range of educational programs in humanities, social sciences, natural science, engineering and technology, management, art education, and medical science. The university now offers 70 undergraduate programs and 157 graduate programs, including 4 post-doctoral programs and 87 Ph.D. programs. With an area of 367 acres,the beautiful campus of XiamenUniversity locates in the south of Xiamen island, backing on hills and near the sea.The new campus----Zhangzhou campus,which faces the Xiamen campus across the sea,is now in formal operation.

TCM overseas education of our school began in 1956.At present,it provides full-time undergraduate courses of TCM,distance undergraduate and professional courses of TCM and Acupuncture and moxibustion, advavced courses of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Chinese Traumato-orthopedics and Tuina,as well as short-term courses of TCM,Acupuncture and Moxibustion,Scalp-acupuncture,Ear-acupuncture,Medicated Diet,Health Preservation,Diet Therapy and Medicinal Tea,etc.All the courses are aimed at students coming from south-east Asia countries,Hongkongg,Macao and Taiwan regions as well as other countries and regions.By now,we have attractedmore than 20,000 foreign students coming from more than 50 countries and regions.Some of them have become well-known personage or specialists ,who have made great contributions to serving the people and spreading Chinese cultures in the countries and regions they live in.

Qualifications for Admission:

Senior high school graduates or those with the same or above level; A certain level of Chinese language; Healthy.

-- Photocopy of Certificate of Level 6 (or above) of HSK.

Entrance Examination:

-- Applicants from foreign countries have to attend HSK.

-- Overseas Chinese and applicants from Hongkongg and Macao have to attend the jiont entrance exam for undergraduates aimed at applicants from Hongkongg,Macao and Taiwan.And the marks for the exam must be up to the bottom mark for enrolment set by XiamenUniversity.

-- Applicants from Taiwan have to attend the jiont entrance exam for undergraduates aimed at applicants from Hongkongg,Macao and Taiwan or the entrance exam for undergraduates organized by XiamenUniversity. And the marks for the exam must be up to the bottom mark for enrolment set by XiamenUniversity.

Diploma:

Graduation diploma will be issued and a medical bachelor's degree will be conferred to those who have completed all required courses and credits and passed the examinations.

Fees:

Length of Semesters:

1.undergraduate courses: 5 years (can be extended to 7 years or shortened to 4 years), 200 credits, can be devided into 2 stages:the first stage (special training,100 credits) and the second stage(the other courses).

2.special training courses:3 years(can be extended to 5 years or shortened to 2 years),100 credits.

Teaching method:Through internet or by correspondence.

Qualifications for Admission:

Senior high school graduates or those with the same or above level; A certain level of Chinese language; Healthy.

those who have the certificate of TCM or Acupuncture & Moxibustion special training courses can apply for undergraduate courses.

Admission Procedure:

After the required documents and remarks having been checked out and admitted, the enrolled students will get the Admission Notice Form and Visa Application Form (JW202) from us.Then the enrolled students can go though school entrance formalities according to regulations.

Diploma:

Graduation diploma will be issued to those who have completed all required courses and credits and passed the examinations. A medical bachelor's degree will be conferred to those who have have got the graduation diploma of undergraduate courses,completed additional 2-month clinical practicing and passed the examination and the appraisal of thesis for a bachelor's degree.

(2)   Advanced courses of Chinese Traumato-orthopedics: The period is 1.5 years. The main courses are Basic Chinese Traumatology, Chinese Orthopedics and Human Anatomy,etc.

Note:The period of one course is half a year.The study certificate will be issued to those who have completed any course and passed the exam.The mark and credit of the completed course will be admitted by us whenever the applicant apply for the speciality and courses of the same kind.

2. Full-time Programs:

(1)   Advanced courses of Acupuncture and Moxibustion taught in Chinese or English:The period is 3 years.Clinical practice is emphasized . The study certificate will be issued to those who have completed all therequired courses and passed the examinations.Application date is April 1 to June 30 each year for courses in Chinese, september 12 to December 12 each year for courses in English.The applicants should contact with us 2 months ahead of the application date.

(2)   Short-term courses of Scalp-acupuncture and Ear-acupuncture: The period is 5 days. Basic theory and techniques of scalp-acupuncture and ear-acupuncture will be introduced.Two days is arranged for clinical practice. The study certificate will be issued to those who have completed the required courses and passed the examinations

(3)   Short-term courses of Filiform needling: The period is 5 days. Basic theory and technique of? will be introduced.Two days is arranged for clinical practice. The study certificate will be issued to those who have completed the required courses and passed the examinations.

(4)   Advanced clinical courses of TCM or Acupuncture and Moxibustion or Chinese traumato-orthopedics:Clinical practice instructed by experienced doctors will be provided for the medical practitioners in order to improve their theoretical and professional levels. The study certificate will be issued to those who have completed the study.

(5)   Advanced courses of Specialized TCM Subjects: The subjects are the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, the diagnosis and treatment of oncosis, the diagnosis and treatment of hepatic and gastric diseases, the diagnosis and treatment of endocrine and urinary diseases and Chinese Herb Processing and Preparing Science,etc. The period is 10-15 days. Diagnosis and treatment techniques,clinical experience and the latest advance of the subject will be introduced in both Chinses and Western medicine . The study certificate will be issued to those who have completed the required courses and passed the examinations.

(6)   Short-term courses of medicated diet,health preservation,diet therapy and medicinal tea,etc.

Qualifications for Admission:

Practitioners and those who are interested in TCM.The distance courses open at all times.The full-time courses open in March or September each year.The courses will be opened with the number of the team applicants above 10,except the advanced courses of Acupuncture and Moxibustion taught in Chinese or English. The open date of the courses can be discussed separately
